A Family Portrait With A Boy – The Onagi’s

When I have got a request of their shooting from the Onagi’s, I was not sure how I can photograph a family of three, with a 10-year-old boy because I could not imagine very well how a 10-year-old boy spends time with his parents and how I can capture their intimate moments.

Actually, the 10-year-old boy, Mio, was a little bit shy first and didn’t know what to do with their parents, but fortunately his father had a great relationship with him and he could get himself very soon :)

Also it was a good idea to bring a beautiful hummock for their shooting :D

Not only Mio, but also his parents enjoyed the hummock and I could get the moments when they could be themselves, and to my joy, the father gave me a very kind mail after they came back to home in Japan saying that the shooting was the most fun time and unforgettable memories of their trip in Guam!!

In a way, it was a kind of challenge for me but I am very happy to hear that they enjoyed the shooting with me, loved the photographs and wanted to decorate their wall with a fine arts float wrap of their favorite photograph :D

オナギ家から撮影のご依頼を頂いた時、10歳の男の子がいる3人家族のお写真をどんなふうに撮ればいいのか、すぐにはわかりませんでした。というのも、10歳の男の子が、一体ご両親様とどのように時間を過ごすのか、果たして私はどんなふうに彼らがリラックスして仲良くしている瞬間を撮ることができるのか、イメージが掴めなかったからです。

実際、10歳のミオくんは最初ちょっとシャイで、ご両親さまとどのようにしたらいいのか分からなかったようですが、幸い、お父様がミオくんととてもいい関係を築いていらっしゃっていて、ミオくんもすぐに自然体になることができたようでした。

また、撮影用にと思って用意したカラフルなハンモックを持っていったのもよかった！！

ミオくんだけではなく、ご両親さまもハンモックをとても喜んでくださって、おかげで私もオナギ家の自然な姿を撮影することができました。またうれしいことに、お父様からはご帰国後とてもうれしいメールをいただき、今回の撮影が、グアム旅行で一番楽しく、忘れられない思い出になったとおっしゃってくださいました♪

ある意味私にとってはチャレンジングな撮影でしたが、オナギ家の皆さまが撮影そのものを楽しんでくださったこと、そして作品をとても気に入ってくださって、お気に入りの一枚をファイン・アート・フロート・ラップにしてご自宅に飾ってくださるというのは、とてもとてもうれしいことです：D
